Milestones | Raevyn Dixon, Wayne Seabrook & Oliver Newham

Uni-Norths Owls would like to congratulate these players on their milestone achievements today. Welcome to the ’50’ club Raevyn Dixon, Wayne Seabrook & Oliver Newham.

Who knew Raevyn Dixon had reached 50 club games already? Not her, that’s for sure. Though she wasn’t quite expecting it, this milestone should come as no surprise. Raevyn approaches each and every game with a fierce determination to make some truly spectacular tackles, and jackal a ball or two. If you’ve ever seen her leg it on a night out, you’ll agree she’s quite the speedster – a skill that has certainly come in handy on the pitch. Whether it’s leaping in the lineout, making a hit, pilfering the ball or even starting a fight, Raevyn uses her size to her advantage. Though she might be small, she is a force to be reckoned with. Many a player has made the mistake of trying to run her over, only to end up with a sore ass and a bruised ego. For someone that doesn’t love the spotlight, she sure makes it hard to look away. Here’s to your big (dog) day, I couldn’t be more proud. Give ‘em hell and then you can crack a rum (or ten) .

Wayne ‘Trell Mitt’ ‘Motto Motto’ Seabrook, congratulations on reaching 50 games, mate—a huge achievement! I’ve had the privilege of sharing the field with Wayne, both on and off, for a few years now. Not once have I seen him back down from a challenge, including his move into the front row, which he’s embraced head-on. He’s one of the toughest players I’ve played alongside, and while he might love the shoulder charge a little more than he should, you can’t deny his toughness. We’ve also had the privilege of playing together in two grand finals at the club, with one victory last year in third grade. It’s been an honor to share those moments with him. Once again, congratulations, mate. Get out there and smash it like we all know you will.

This Saturday Ollie Newham makes his long-awaited return to his spiritual home ground, Griffith Oval. Although he won’t be running out alongside Pete Samu for Easts First Grade – he’s earning his 50th Owls cap. It’s been an honour to pack down in the scrum with Ollie for the last few years despite his 5 year long mission to get out of the second row. Having completed 5 seasons (and 0 preseasons) at Owls, Ollie embodies what it means to be an Owls clubman. He rips into the tough stuff on the pitch and always offers to pull on a jersey for other grades and back up his mates. He’s a keen supporter of the club and you’ll often find him parked up on the balcony all Saturday afternoon. Go well in game 50, Ollie. Keen to pack down in the second row with you for many more.
