Owls in the Spotlight as Brumbies U19s Fall Just Short in Grand Final

It was a heartbreaker for the Brumbies U19s this weekend, as they went down 31–24 to the NSW Waratahs in the Grand Final at Warringah Rugby Club, ultimately missing out on a third consecutive title.

It was a courageous effort from the Brumbies, they struck first through fly-half Chace Oates and captain Eli Langi, and held a lead heading into the closing stages. Despite mounting pressure late, they were unable to break the Waratahs’ defence and the match slipped away.

Among the squad were several Uni-Norths Owls players who have been key contributors to their club campaigns: Billy Hansen, Will Hodge, Harvey McLean, Ben Martens, and under the guidance of coach Lachie Creighton. Their presence in this U19 setup underscores the strength of the Owls’ pathway and the calibre of players coming through.

Though the result wasn’t what they had hoped, the Brumbies U19s’ run has been impressive, beating the Force and Reds away was no small feat. They finish the season with their heads held high, having pushed for honours on the big stage and carrying invaluable experience forward.

Congratulations to all Brumbies U19s, in particular our Owls representatives, for a standout campaign.
