Pasifika Day 2025: Culture, Community and Club Pride

Pasifika Day 2025 was a proud and meaningful occasion at ANU North Oval, as the Uni-Norths Owls came together to celebrate the Pasifika cultures that are deeply woven into the fabric of our club.

With a strong Pasifika presence across our playing group, the day was an opportunity to honour the families, heritage and traditions that help shape the heart of the Owls. The atmosphere was filled with pride and support, as players took the field with purpose and the crowd turned out in force.

Our Men’s 1st Grade and Premier Women’s XV sides wore the Owls Pasifika jersey, first introduced in 2024 and designed by members of the club. The jersey represents Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Aotearoa, the Cook Islands, and the wider Pacific Islands — a powerful symbol of connection and identity.

On the scoreboard, 1st Grade and Premier Women delivered strong wins, while the rest of the grades showed great heart in a series of close and competitive matches.

Pasifika Day 2025 was more than just a round of rugby — it was a celebration of culture, unity, and the people who make the Owls family what it is.
