Owls Launch 2025 Season with Unity, Energy, and Purpose
The Uni-Norths Owls officially launched their 2025 season last night in a vibrant and heartfelt event held upstairs at The Barn, overlooking ANU North Oval. With the entire club training on the fields below, the evening brought together players, coaches, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters in a celebration of community and shared purpose.
The event marked the culmination of a big preseason across all grades and programs. As training took place under lights, guests gathered above to hear from club leaders and connect ahead of a much-anticipated Round 1 this weekend.
Club President David Luchetti welcomed the crowd and extended his thanks to everyone who contributes to the club — on and off the field. His message acknowledged the crucial role of sponsors and volunteers in helping the Owls continue to grow and thrive.
Men’s 1st Grade Head Coach Lachlan Creighton and Premier Women’s XV Head Coach Andris Balmaks also addressed the room, sharing reflections on the preseason and their excitement for the season ahead. Both coaches spoke with clear belief in their groups, highlighting the energy, commitment, and unity within the squads.
One of the most special moments of the night came when the attending group — including sponsors and volunteers — were invited to join the entire club in a pre-training huddle. In a show of connection and anticipation, the Round 1 team lists were read out across all grades, officially setting the tone for the weekend.
With the season now launched, the Owls are united, prepared, and ready to soar into 2025.
