The Uni-Norths Owls Premier Women’s side delivered a commanding performance at ANU North Oval on Saturday, defeating the Canberra Royals 49–7 in Round 11 of the Bentspoke Premier 15s.

The match was played as part of the club’s annual Pasifika Day, a celebration of the cultures, families and communities that form the heart of the Owls. Fittingly, the team wore their special Owls Pasifika jerseys, and the day also marked Emerina Marsh-Kiro’s 50th Premier Grade game for the club.

The Owls took control early, with flyhalf Marsh-Kiro opening the scoring through a penalty goal before crossing for a converted try minutes later. The momentum continued to build through the first half with a try to Benita Ese Sale, and from there, the home side didn’t look back.

Second-half tries to Madeleine Gogala, Meilani Salale, Elodie Galinier (twice), Katelyn Hill, and Annabelle Mickelson showcased the team’s attacking depth, with forwards and backs combining fluidly across the park. Gogala and Marsh-Kiro also added important conversions to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

It was a clinical and confident performance from the Owls, who dominated possession and territory, while maintaining their structure and intensity from the opening whistle to the final siren.

The match capped off a special day filled with celebration and Pasifika pride, as the club recognised its island heritage, the contributions of its Pacific players, and the strength of the community surrounding the Owls.

With this result, the Owls cemented their position in the top half of the ladder and continue building strong momentum into the business end of the season.
