Match Report: Owls 1st Grade Rally Falls Short in Thriller Against Tuggeranong
The Uni-Norths Owls were pipped in a hard-fought battle against Tuggeranong Vikings on Saturday afternoon, going down 32–26 at Viking Park in Round 16 of the John I Dent Cup. It was an electric start from the home side, with halfback Atora Hondo darting over in just the 2nd minute to give Vikings the early lead. Louis Bartley-Saena added the extras, and things quickly worsened for the Owls. The Uni-Norths Owls bounced back in style in Round 16, overpowering the Tuggeranong ViQueens 24–12 in a physically demanding match at Viking Park to leap back into second place on the Bentspoke Premier 15s ladder. Played under overcast skies with greasy conditions underfoot, both sides leaned on their forward packs in a match defined by tight carries, big collisions, and some brutal defence.
