Players, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters dressed to the nines for an evening of reflection, recognition and celebration after an incredible year for the Uni-Norths Owls. Uni-Norths Owls secured a thrilling 31–29 victory over Western District Lions in Round 8 at ANU North Oval, with a late penalty goal from flyhalf Samuel Toa sealing the win in the dying moments of the game. The match was made all the more special for two Owls veterans—lock Samuel Mickelson marked his 50th First Grade appearance, while his brother, hooker Christopher Mickelson, celebrated his 50th Club game. The Uni-Norths Owls were outgunned by the Queanbeyan Whites in Round 6 of the John I Dent Cup, falling 45–35 in an entertaining but ultimately frustrating encounter at neutral territory, Phillip Oval. The Owls began brightly, taking early control through hooker Christopher Mickelson, who crashed over in the 7th minute to cap a strong opening spell. A thrilling contest at Viking Park saw the Uni-Norths Owls fall just short, 24–27, against the Tuggeranong Vikings in Round 5 of the John I Dent Cup. Despite a determined fightback, a last-gasp try and conversion were not enough to overturn a strong Vikings performance. The match opened at full throttle, with Lachlan Hooper crossing the line in the first minute to give the Vikings an immediate lead.
