Match Report: Premier Women Claim Confident Win in Queanbeyan
The Uni-Norths Owls Premier Women secured a strong 22–5 win away from home against the Queanbeyan Whites in Round 12 of the Bentspoke Premier 15s.
It was an ideal start for the Owls, with number 8 Crystal Papalii crashing over in the 5th minute to set the tone early. Winger Liana Taufa’ao added to the scoreboard ten minutes later, with fullback Elodie Galinier converting the try to take the lead to 12–0.
An injury to lock Belle Dare in the 12th minute brought Cadyn Morgan-McGregor onto the field. Despite the disruption, the Owls maintained pressure and field position. Queanbeyan managed a response after halftime through a try to hooker Clementine Utumapu in the 45th minute, narrowing the gap.
But the Owls struck back through impact from the bench. Caity Porter came on and crossed in the 54th minute to extend the lead. Ellie Brislane then iced the match with a well-earned try in the 68th minute, capping off a solid performance across the park.
The win sees the Owls continue their strong form, claiming another valuable victory as the competition heads into the final rounds.
