Owls Take on Boorowa Rugby Festival in Tough Conditions
Uni-Norths Owls braved the wet and muddy conditions on Saturday as they took part in the Boorowa Rugby Festival. Despite the rain, the Women’s X, 3rd and 4th Grade, and Colts teams put in strong performances, making the most of the pre-season hit-out.
The Women’s X side had a standout day, winning all three of their games. They executed their new structure effectively, showing impressive cohesion and attacking flair. Their dominant performance was a testament to their hard work in pre-season.
3rd and 4th Grade had a tough outing but showcased excellent defensive efforts. They lost one game and drew another, proving their resilience in challenging conditions. Their commitment in defence was a highlight, keeping opposition attacks at bay.
The Colts teams played three tightly contested matches, finishing with one win, one draw, and one loss. Despite the mixed results, they impressed across all games, demonstrating skill and determination. The coaching staff were pleased with their overall performance and effort throughout the day.
The festival provided valuable match experience for all teams, with plenty of positives to take into the season ahead. With strong defensive displays and promising attacking play, the Owls will look to build on this momentum as they continue their preparations.
