Owls Set to Soar as Round 1 Kicks Off Against Wests This Weekend

The 2025 season officially begins this weekend, and the Uni-Norths Owls are primed for a strong campaign after a determined and well-structured preseason. With a series of trial games under their belt the Owls have used every opportunity to fine-tune their combinations and build cohesion across the park. This years squad features a mix of returning experience and new energy, all united under a shared goal — to make 2025 a standout year for the club.

Speaking ahead of Round 1, Owls 1st Grade Head Coach Lachlan Creighton shared his confidence in the group’s preparation and mindset:

“Our players and staff have been working unbelievably hard since November, which gives us a quality base heading into Round 1,” Creighton said. “We’ve got a great group of men and we’re only going up from here.”

The Owls’ preseason journey has been one of growth, resilience, and connection. From the regional challenge of the Central West to the back-to-back tests in Narrabeen — where they defeated Western Sydney Two Blues and fell just short against a strong Manly Marlins outfit — each match offered valuable lessons.

An internal scrimmage gave coaches a deeper look at player depth and combinations, while last weekends final trial against the Tuggeranong Vikings, one of the ACT’s toughest sides, rounded out preparations with a physical and competitive clash.

As Round 1 approaches, the Owls are focused, hungry, and ready to put their hard work into action. Expect intensity, expect heart, and expect the Owls to come out flying.

Let the season begin.
