Brumbies Women hold on against gallant Hong Kong China

The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies Womens side have taken down the visiting Hong Kong China 33-19 on Saturday afternoon at Viking Park.


The Brumbies were full of running to start the match, controlling possession from the outset. The home side continued to build momentum before No 8. 

Lydia Kavoa barged through from close range to notch up the game’s first try inside 6 minutes.

Hong Kong China responsed only minutes later through left winger Julia Mibuy. 

The Dragons taking advantage of an overlap 22m out from the opposition try line to score down the left flank to cut the lead to 7-5.The Brumbies to continue to pepper Hong Kong China’s right edge. After much weighted possession, the home side crossed the line in the 22nd minute with tighthead forward Iris Verebalavu diving over. Flyhalf Faitala Moleka convetring from outwide to increase the lead to 14-5
