Welcome to Season 2023!

It’s nearly time

The summer seems to blow away quickly as we all keenly await the kick-off of a new rugby new season. Training turnout has been great and we have already had a few trials which give the club plenty to build on. Game 1 kicks off on 15 April V Gungahlin Eagles at Nicholls Oval (now also known as Perce Douglas Memorial Field). This game has become known as the Battle of the Birds as the Owls look to press dominance over the Eagles to start the season on high.

We have a busy season ahead with a home game day event at every home game starting with former players day at The Barn on 22 April when we play Wests. ( See more info below).

Our womens players have made a very solid impression at the Brumbies this year with 6 players in the squad – Jess Grant, Emerina (Bubba) Marsh, Iris Verebalavu (Fiji International), Lydia Ratu Kavoa (Australian Services), Pesi Paul and Tania Naden (Both Walleroos).

Huge kudos to Pesi and Tania as Pesi is Captain of the Brumbies and Tania Vice Captain. What a fitting reward for two not only outstanding players but very impressive individuals !!

Congratulations to Talei Wilson as she continues to impress for the Fiji 7s team and travelling the world  !!

Congratulations also to Charlie Cale on making his Brumbies debut. We look forward to seeing Billy Pollard back on the field again soon following a training injury. Great to see Ollie Sapsfrd back again and we look to welcome him to the club.
