Wow, what a season it’s been for the Owls. Eight teams (and enough players for a 6th grade side a couple of times), seven of them in the finals, and two of them move forward to the Grand Finals this weekend.
We’ve seen many, many players stepping up this season and new players abound including plenty in their first season of rugby. Clearly the coaching and managing has been excellent with better things to come next year.
The support from our sponsors has been sensational, our volunteers magnificent and what do you say about our incredible supporters !! Extraordinary !!
There are so many people to thank and the presentation night will be doing just that doing that on the 2nd September at the Canberra Rex. Buy your tickets here.
Viking Park this weekend
Viking Park is the place to be this weekend to support our 3rd grade side who are playing Goul
We’ll have three international players playing in the women’s team. Pesi Palu (centre) and Tanya Naden (hooker /No8) who play for the Walleroos and Iris Verebalavu, who represents Fiji playing at Prop.
Thank you for being such great supporters of the OWLS this year and we look forward to bringing home two great premierships.
Player’s and supporters of Norths from the 1960s, 70s and 80s will recognise Ross Walker, Club Patron and Life member of the OWLS with his brothers Bruce (AKA Cookie Monster) and Phillip.
All three played 1st Grade for Norths and Ross and Bruce also coached through the grades.
Phil who now lives near Dorrigo was in Canberra for the Vietnam Veterans 50th Anniversary Memorial last week.
Cookie is remembered for many and various activities as Club Captain and Rat Night entertainer and occasional operatic performances.
